Agroecology Research Associate

The Researcher will lead the conduct of research studies on agroecological transition in participating communities. He/she will be responsible for designing research tools, collecting and analyzing field data, producing knowledge products, and ensuring that research findings are validated with communities and useful for SEARICE’s programs, learning, and policy advocacy work.

  • Excellent technical writing, synthesis, and communication skills in English and Filipino.

  • Ability to translate technical findings into community-friendly and policy-oriented materials.

  • Proficiency in qualitative methods (FGDs, KIIs, case study, participatory rural appraisal) and quantitative methods (survey design, basic statistics).

  • Proficiency in data collection and management tools such as KoboToolbox / ODK / Google Forms, and data analysis software such as SPSS / STATA / NVivo / MAXQDA / Excel.

Financial Management Head (for pooling purposes only)

The Financial Management Head plays a crucial role in leading the financial functions of an organization. This involves developing and implementing financial strategies to achieve organizational goals, overseeing financial planning and budgeting, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The Financial Management Head also provides financial analysis and insights to support business decisions, identifies areas for cost savings and process improvements, and oversees risk management and internal controls. Additionally, this role involves leading and managing a team of financial professionals, communicating financial information to stakeholders, and maintaining relationships with external partners.

 

Overall, the Financial Management Head is responsible for driving financial excellence and accountability within the organization.

  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, standards, and practices (e.g., GAAP, IFRS)

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

  • Proven ability to design and implement internal controls, risk management, and system improvements

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and build the capacity of staff

  • Familiarity with donor financial requirements, compliance processes, and fund transfer mechanisms in the NGO sector

Program Officer for Policy and Advocacy

The Program Officer for Policy and Advocacy leads the development and implementation of policy research and advocacy initiatives that advance SEARICE’s organizational priorities, particularly on farmers’ rights, seed systems, agrobiodiversity, intellectual property rights, agroecology, climate change, and related issues. The position translates policy developments, research findings, field experiences, and farming communities' perspectives into evidence-based recommendations and advocacy strategies, while engaging relevant stakeholders at the local, national, regional, and international levels.

  • Strong research, analytical, critical-thinking, and policy interpretation skills.

  • Ability to formulate evidence-based policy recommendations, develop advocacy strategies, and prepare clear policy and advocacy materials.

  • Familiarity with Philippine policymaking processes and relevant regional and international policy frameworks.

  • Ability to plan and coordinate activities, manage competing priorities, and document progress and lessons learned.​
